Many Thanks

(Looking for my card for the current MAWTT challenge? CLICK HERE)
Another simple card using Joanna Sheen flowers, Garden Elegance.

I stamped an extra copy and just cut one of the top flowers and popped it over the bottom image to create an additional flower.

Courage and hope

Here's a simple card made by using clear embossing powder, shading with distress inks, a flower image from Kaiserkraft (Just Believe) & a sentiment from GinaK Designs (Faithful Florals):

CAS rose

I made this for a friend's birthday. I hope she'll like it!
I didn't stamp the rose (GinaK Designs' A Year of Flowers) with black but with London Fog (Memento) instead. It gives it a very hand-drawn feel. I used my Spectrum Noirs (Reds) to color the rose and then used the blender pen to give some texture and highlights. The leaf was colored with a green from the "lights" set.
The front panel is popped up on the base which was shaded with Fired Brick (Tim Holtz).

Here's a fun & versatile sketch for our latest Moving Along with the Times challenge:

Knights & Princesses

A couple of days ago I posted a card with "The Damsel" from Mo Manning (Digital Pencil). Here is a picture of the Knights & Princesses at my friend's daughter's party.

My daughter is the one in the blue dress. The birthday girl is wearing a crown :D

Won't you say my card fits right in?

Covered note book

I haven't shared this since the photo quality is so poor. I took the photo at night in my badly lit kitchen and gave it to my friend for her birthday the next day  (last year December) so I couldn't take a better one!
The image is from Marianne Design and the wording is from GinaK Designs' Get Organised set. I covered the whole panel with self-adhesive plastic before glueing it to the front of the journal / note book.

DS4J callenge #63: Celebrate Easter

Our new challenge at Digistamps4Joy is to Celebrate EasterThis is open to your interpretation on how you celebrate Easter time, whether it is collecting eggs in the garden, chasing the bunnies, or a Christian connection.
Here's my card using "Floral Cross" from DS4J and a sentiment from "The Vine" (GinaK designs):

On a personal note:
For Christians across the world the season of Easter is one of the critical foundations of our faith. It's not just about Christ's sacrifice on the cross but even more importantly, about His resurrection and victory over death and sin.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". 1 John 3:16

It's also not enough to just believe but to also bear the fruit of Christianity and make Christ the Lord of your life. Yes, we make mistakes but we must repent and live by Grace.

DS4J release Sunday 17 March '13

I was so happy to be able to play with this new release image (a set) from Digistamps4Joy!

I cut two slits on both sides of the stalks to thread the ribbon through.
Coloring with "Yellows" from Spectrum Noir.
If you didn't come here from Digistamps4Joy's website, please visit there to see the amazing projects from the other DT's!

Drama Queen!!

I made this card for a lovely young lady who just turned 6!! She's a good friend of my daughter's and we're celebrating her birthday tomorrow. I've been wanting to use this image from Mo Manning (The Damsel) for a long time and thought I'd use it since her party theme is Knight & Princesses :D
Ok, I love how this turned out. I made two sets of stage curtains but shaded the top one and popped it with 3D foam. The "spotlight" is just a die-cut circle, shaded with Tim Holtz (Wild Honey) while still in the die.
She's colored with my Spectrum Noirs and I also popped up the front left section of her dressing gown. (Enlarge top picture.)
I love the textured look of the Co-ordinations cardstock that I used.

Muchas Gracias!

I couldn't resist pulling out my Spanish sentiments from Papertrey Ink for this one!!  It's using the latest sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

I'm also playing with CAS-ual Fridays CFC94 to use chipboard. I found this wooden cutout that I've had for AGES and didn't know what to do with! I stamped it with the same stamp I used on the pink background (from Kaiserkraft, "Just Believe"). The green "DP" is also stamped with a stamp from the same Kaiserkraft set.
The pot was stained with Aged Mahogany (Tim Holtz) and the green leaves are just colored with my Spectrum Noirs.

Have a great weekend everyone!

In the Northern hemisphere everyone is gearing up for Spring and in some places they are waiting for the lovely Spring showers.  And this is our challenge at Moving Along with the Times:
Our sponsor for this week is: http://www.prairiefairydesigns.com

I picked the cute Singin in the Rain:

I double printed the image to cut out the umbrella and popped it on with 3D foam. Her "glasses" were covered with Ranger Glossy Accents.
Colored using Spectrum Noir
Background paper: Bo Bunny
Sentiment: The Giving Tree (GinaK Designs)

Vintage CAS

Usually when I think of "vintage" I'm picturing lots of floral embellishments, flourishes, laces, ribbons, pearls etc. In short - "BUSY" cards :D. I DO like the look of vintage but struggle with all the bits as I'm more comfortable with CAS or something related to it. So I started playing today with some vintage looking stamps from Marianne Design (CS0857) but kept it clean & simple.
I stamped my "DP" with some images of the set in Memento Desert Sand, London Fog and of course Tuxedo Black. I love the combination of beige / creams with the starker accent of black.

The sentiment & flourishes are from Papertrey Ink (Think Big Favorites #12 and Spiral Bouquet - See http://www.redcardcorner.blogspot.com/p/stamps-i-use.html)

Masculine texture

Here's a quick digi and clear stamp card with an embossed layer. I made about 7 of these for the men's birthdays at church for April:

I actually managed to find where I downloaded the digital image (ship): http://www.clker.com/clipart-boat-ship-sailing-strong-waves.html
The sentiment is again from PTI's Think Big Favorites #12.
Embossing folder is Cuttlebug's D'vine Swirl (LOVE it)
Sails colored with Spectrum Noir.

Two-toned flowers

I haven't had opportunity to play along with Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday for a while but this one couldn't be passed.

I stamped the large Sunflower (PTI) twice and the smaller one once and then layered a die-cut sunflower over the one above the sentiment (PTI Think Big Favorites #12).

I made 9 of these for my card ministry at church - the April ladies' birthdays (ssssssssssshhhhhhhh)

DS4J challenge #62: Color my World!

Here's an interesting challenge for you from Digistamps4Joy!
COLOR MY WORLD
You can use any THREE of the colors in this picture:
I decided to go with the Black & White + Yellow theme:
The blocks were drawn by hand with a ruler & black marker leaving space specifically for BUTTONS from Digistamps4Joy. Then I placed birthday sentiments (most from GinaK Designs with one exception, the one under the right-hand button which is Papertrey Ink) all over with some small images (also GinaK). The yellow doesn't show up as nice as it should.

Please join us and share your color!
